The proposed concept of the MASTER city sports center has as its basic premise the creation of a dynamic public space that, through the use of color, construction, and specific floor and interior solutions, becomes a sign in the space and a materialized invitation to "visit".
In this procedure, one dominant spatial element is introduced. It is a plane of red membrane that "unwinds" in the form of an access lane starting on the street, expands near the building, and enters the interior covering the floor, rising vertically on one side, and finally covering the ceiling. The "shell" created this way becomes an independent and recognizable sign, softening the boundary between the interior and exterior space, and encouraging the dialogue between the object and its surroundings. At the same time, the multifunctional hall as an integral part of the shell is exposed as the central motif of the object. Following the initial idea of the object as a sign in space, its character is presented to the greatest extent through the construction, which becomes the basic means of design. The oblique "V" columns that extend through two levels dominate and at the same time represent a structural and design element. In addition to the structural elements, color is another key design tool. Red color as a reflection of dynamics and sports spirit, applied to different materials, becomes dominant. The mentioned "shell", is present in the floor in the form of a substrate for athletic tracks that covers the entire ground floor including the trough of the hall with stands. At the same time, in the vertical plane and on the ceiling it is applied to the wire elements in the frames. Playing with graphics and symbols of sports fields and athletic tracks, which are used for marking and signaling from the entrance, through the entire building, is a gesture that further underlines the character and makes the building visible in the environment.
